My name is Sara Louise Dunn. I grew up in South Carolina where I graduated from Clemson University in Early Childhood Education and earned a Masters of Education from Winthrop University in Elementary Education. I have taught for 21 years in many different school districts as a kindergarten, first, third, fourth, and a resource teacher.
I am thrilled to be teaching first grade again. First grade is an exciting year and we will see major growth in the students as they learn to read, write, and understand math. I plan to provide the children with opportunities to explore and learn through hands-on activities. I will also strive to create a nurturing environment where students are encouraged to reach their greatest potential. A good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school achievement. Throughout this year I will communicate with you by notes, emails, and telephone calls. Your involvement in your child’s school career will influence his/her academic success. Please feel free to come volunteer in the classroom, join us for lunch, or arrange to come observe your child. Parents are always welcome! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
